For Bisson Home Improvement I was given a lot of freedom to create a site for my client. For my first meeting with Jean, we discussed what information he wanted on the page if he had any color preferences, and what contact information he wanted to include. He brought with him some testimonials that he had received from clients as well as a flier that he had been using to describe his work.

The flier was the perfect place to start when I was creating the text of the page. Not only did it list the services that Bisson Home Improvement provides, but it also walks the potential customer through some questions to ask as they are choosing a contractor. Jean’s clients may have an older home that does not reflect current trends and highlights how renovations can update the client’s existing home to reflect their current lifestyle. Working with his team a client can add more natural light by replacing or enlarging windows, create a more open layout, or add additional space by finishing an attic or basement.

On the site, the about section provides credibility to his business by listing his license numbers as well as the fact that he is an accredited business with the Better Business Bureau. In this section, there is a mini-bio that includes how long he has been in business as well as his motto. Finally, we do include an image of the service area his business operates within.

For the convenience of future customers that find Bisson Home Improvement on their phone, the site has enabled click to call functionality. As more people are using their mobile devices to search for businesses and service providers there is no reason not to include this basic functionality, since it makes it easier for clients to call you. They don’t have to write down, remember or try to copy and paste the number from the site into their phone, one click brings up the keypad with the phone number already in and ready for you to simply click send. The same functionality for email has been included as well, simply click on the “Email Us” and your email program will open with the email address already populated for you.
