Who are the customers that Blue Shutters is looking to serve? If you are a micro or small business, a sole proprietor, a self-publish author, or someone that just wants a website. My customers are typically looking for one of the two services listed below that I offer. (I do offer other options as well but I am focusing on the website creation aspect.)
Being in either of those categories can be extremely intimidating and might make you feel like you should just put it off. I am here to encourage you to just call me and I can help you take that step to create or update a website for your business.
If you are wondering if this will take a lot of time, the answer is not really. I fully understand that may not be the answer you were looking for but I am going to, be honest, the amount of time needed varies depending on your current needs. I also believe in setting expectations for my customers to help reduce that amount of ambiguity that will naturally exist in the creation process; the initial consultation to get a feel for what your business does, the depth of the site you would like, and if you want to be your own admin to do updates or if you are looking to retain the services of Blue Shutters to maintain your site going forward, should take about 30-45 minutes. Shortly after the meeting, I will send you a proposal with the applicable fees, what is required from the customer, and the time frame for delivery.
The whole process may seem daunting but that is why you hire me to help you through it, I do my best to make it as simple as possible for you. If you can talk about your business and have a cup of coffee then you have all you need to create a successful working relationship with me to create your website. You do not need:
While I will do the heavy lifting for the technical aspects you are still very much a partner in building your site. The information that will be on your site is specific to your business so you do need to provide me that information, and while that can seem overwhelming I work with you to make the process as easy as possible. Once I have a signed proposal I send a client information sheet for you to fill out, this gives me all the information that I need to populate your website, these questions cover the basics that you probably answer regularly when you have customers or future customers calling you. What the information sheet does is guide you through the process so you don't have to look at a blank page and wonder what do I want to put on the website.
You will also need to provide me with your business logo, any color preferences you have, or any colors you want to avoid because they are just as important as what you want to include. I can source stock images for your site if you do not have professional images of your work. I highly recommend professional headshots to be included, and I can recommend someone if you do already have some images to use.
Once you have handed over all the information, I will format the text and gather the images and work with the code to create your site. Once I have everything together and am ready for you to take a look at it before it is delivered to the internet, and provide your approval or feedback for changes if needed.
There are a few different ways to show you the new or updated site, some options include:
Once you provide your approval then I can deliver the final site and make it available on the internet.
The super-short summary is that I can create your website for you and the amount of work you need to put into it is minimal, like getting a cup of coffee. I am flexible and understand the challenges of micro and small businesses, so I can work with you to create a website that fits your needs and budget. I believe that small businesses can work together and help each other grow, so if your budget is small don't let that hold you back, give me a call and we can discuss what I can provide now and how we can expand your site in an incremental process as your budget allows for it. Now that you are ready to take the next step, call (978-364-3056) or email today.
